KOTA KINABALU, 4 AUGUST 2018: Housewife Madam Lee Boh Ching (李宝珍) hit the jackpot when she won MAGGI®s Jom Masak & Menang Besar Grand Prize of an Isuzu D-Max Prestige today (4 August 2018).
The 61-year-old beat out two contenders at the grand final held at Megalong Mall which involved a competition that tested them on their knowledge of MAGGI products, their agility and technical skills.
First and second runner up prizes went to En, Mohd Faddly bin Perdulhan and Pn. Rahmah binti Abdul Rahman who walked away with RM5,000 and RM3,000 worth of electrical goods respectively.
This year’s finale was graced by YB Jenifer Lasimbang, Assistant Minister of Education and Innovation.
Running from May 1st -June 30th, the annual contest was organised in conjunction with the Gawai Dayak Festival as part of MAGGI®’s continuous efforts to engage and reward individuals and families for their strong support over the years.
“The purpose of this contest was to reward our loyal customers while embracing the communal spirit of Pesta Kaamatan because that is what lies at the heart of the MAGGI brand,” said MAGGI Business Executive Officer Geetha K. Balakrishna.
She added that this yea’s edition marked another milestone for MAGGI® as they recorded a 20% increase in participation from 2017 from both Sarawak and Sabah with a total 260,145 entries. MAGGI received 117,184 entries from Sarawak, and 127,199 entries from Sabah.
“This is testament to how well-received this competition is amongst its loyal consumer base as well as how our brand has stood the test of time with its ease of cooking in the home and its unique as well as distinctive flavours.”
Besides the grand prize (an ISUZU D-MAX Z-PRESTIGE), RM8,000 worth of electronic goods, participants also had a chance to win weekly prizes and RM100 bonus cash prizes for every 1000th qualified entry throughout the campaign period.
During the contest period, a total of eight roadshows were held in Kuching, Sibu and Miri on a weekly basis, where visitors were able to participate in fun games that MAGGI® had prepared for families. MAGGI® reached out to over 6,000 Sabahans throughout its two month-long roadshow.
