KOTA KINABALU: The music video “Kita Jaga Sabah” is not just a work of art but a manifestation of the people’s voice, love, and commitment to safeguard the state, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the official launch of the music video is proof that Sabah talents are capable of producing outstanding works that not only unite the community but also ignite the spirit of solidarity.
“When we say Kita Jaga Sabah, it is not merely a slogan. It is a collective call that regardless of race, religion, or status, we must all shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding this state in terms of peace, unity, and development,” he said at the media premiere and launch of the music video at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC).
Hajiji also expressed appreciation to producer Farish Aziz for successfully bringing together some of the state’s top talents, including Stacy, Elica Paujin, Feroq, Dabra Sia, Meba, Anip, and Nuvel, as well as songwriter Anas Amdan.
He said art and culture are among the most effective mediums to connect communities, especially the youth, as they allow them to express aspirations and hopes in a positive way.
“This music video clearly shows that Sabah youths are not only talented but also have big hearts. They want this state to progress, they want to see change, and they want to contribute,” he said.
Hajiji also praised the Tamu Suara 360 programme organised by the Sabah Youth Council with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which provides a platform for young people to voice their views on the future of the state.
He congratulated council president Abqaree Abekan and his team for their hard work in organising the initiative.
“Our young people not only care but are also concerned about education, job opportunities, economic development, and the future of this state. This is the spirit of care and responsibility that we want to nurture among the younger generation,” he said.
Hajiji said that building a prosperous and competitive Sabah is not an easy task but requires sacrifice and cooperation from all parties.
Therefore, he said, the State Government will continue to provide space and support for initiatives to empower youth, whether in the fields of art, culture, sports, or entrepreneurship.
“With the spirit of Kita Jaga Sabah, I am confident we can build a state that is not only economically advanced but also rich in culture, harmonious in unity, and inclusive for all its people,” he said.
He also called on the people of Sabah, especially the youth, to uphold the spirit of Kita Jaga Sabah as the foundation for building the state.
“We are all guardians of Sabah from leaders, youths, villagers, to artists. If we move together, God willing, we can bring this state to even greater heights of success,” he said.
