SANDAKAN: Politeknik Sandakan Sabah (PSS) hosted a Focus Group Dialogue (FGD) on Sept 27, a key initiative for the upcoming TVET Madani POLYCC Sabah 2025 Career Expo.
The dialogue, titled “TVET Madani: Shaping the Future of Sabah’s Agriculture, Fisheries, and Manufacturing,” served as a strategic platform for industry leaders and economic development agencies.
The primary goal was to align TVET curricula with the evolving skill demands of Sabah’s key sectors, ensuring graduates are equipped to drive economic growth.
In his keynote address, Datuk Hj. Ag. Buhtamam Hj. Ag. Mahmun, Chief Executive of Sedafiat Sdn. Bhd. and CEO of POLYCC, underscored the critical role of TVET in achieving food security and establishing Sabah as the nation’s “Food Basket.”
Panel discussions focused on integrating modern technology and innovation into TVET programs. The consensus was that a skilled workforce is essential for enhancing productivity and quality in agriculture and fisheries.
