KOTA KINABALU: Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 from Regions 5 and 6 brought together 280 members and friends to celebrate the contribution of outgoing District Governor, Dato’ Winnie Lee Siew Ping.
Winnie demonstrated exemplary leadership in guiding the district through the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
She worked tirelessly to strengthen Lionism through selfless dedication in serving communities across Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Labuan.
Presiding officer and organising chairperson, Sunny Yeoh, said Winnie connected people across cultures through the theme “Through FOCUS We Lead, Through FOCUS We Shine,” which also saw membership growth.
Cabinet secretary Lanice Fo announced that District 308-A2 had broken its own membership recruitment record, bringing in 554 new members, or 150 per cent of the 369-member target set at the start of the Lions year.
She said the district also secured both the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) Emergency Grant and the LCIF Post-Flood Recovery Grant, enabling immediate humanitarian assistance and long-term recovery support for flood victims.
Another milestone during her tenure was the successful hosting of the Immediate Past International President and LCIF Chairperson in Kota Kinabalu.
