KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans are encouraged to participate in the 2025 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) Awards to gain recognition for their contributions to the nation.
This prestigious national award aims to recognise young individuals in various fields, including society, economy, technology, and culture, inspiring more young people to actively participate in nation-building and showcase their leadership potential.
The presentation ceremony will be held on 9 September 2025 at the Pullman Hotel in Miri.
“Youth are the future of our nation. JCI TOYM provides a platform to recognise and celebrate their achievements, inspiring them to shine in their respective fields.

“I encourage more young people in Sabah to step forward and showcase their talents and influence,” said Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe during a press conference organised by JCI Malaysia, hosted by JCI Miri, and co-hosted by JCI Lahad Datu at Likas Square here.
Phoong’s speech was read by his Public Relations Secretary, Amos Thien.
Also in attendance was JCI Senator Datuk Adeline Leong, a 1988 JCI TOYM honouree, who shared her inspiring journey as a past award recipient.
She encouraged young people to seize opportunities and pursue their dreams fearlessly.
“The TOYM award is not only a recognition of personal achievements but also a commitment to social responsibility.
“I hope to see more outstanding young Malaysians making their mark on the global stage,” she remarked.
This year marks the first time JCI Miri is hosting JCI TOYM in Miri, signifying a major milestone for East Malaysia in youth development and leadership cultivation.
2025 JCI TOYM Organising Chairperson Candy Yong said: “Through TOYM, we aim to bring more visibility to the talented young individuals in Sarawak and Sabah, empowering them to realise their full potential and make a greater impact on society.”
Nominations are now open nationwide, featuring 10 categories, including business and economy, political and legal affairs, technological innovation, cultural arts, environmental protection, and more.
Eligible nominees must be Malaysians aged between 18 and 40 who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields and made significant contributions to society.
The public, corporations, and organisations are encouraged to nominate outstanding young individuals around them, providing them with an opportunity to be recognised on a national stage.
