SANDAKAN: Tanjong Papat State Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, attended as the guest of honour to inaugurate the 2025 Sandakan Dental Department Bowling Tournament on Saturday.
Poon officiated the tournament at Champs Bowling at 9.15 am, followed by the start of the competition at 9.30 am, which continued until its conclusion. The ceremony was enlivened by a prize-giving ceremony for winners around 1.00 pm.
In his speech, Poon commended organisers, the Sandakan Dental Unit’s Welfare, Sports, and Recreation Committee for their initiative, emphasizing that such events not only strengthen sporting spirit among healthcare workers but also foster cooperation and camaraderie across departments.
“Sports are not merely physical activities; they are bridges that unite communities, promote healthy lifestyles, and bolster teamwork. I applaud the organizers for executing such a vibrant and meaningful event,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sandakan and Mega Cloud Software & Tech will co-organize a free seminar titled “E-Invoicing: Challenges and Solutions” on May 23 and 24.
The event aims to address practical issues in E-invoicing implementation, including legal compliance and system integration.
Conducted in Chinese (23 May, Friday, 7:00–9:00 PM) and Malay (24 May, Saturday, 9:00–11:00 AM), the sessions will feature insights from two HRDC-certified experts.
Attendees will gain actionable strategies to navigate Malaysia’s evolving digital taxation landscape.
