KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has not made any decision yet to form a coalition partnership with any parties.
“The GRS Supreme Council will meet in the near future to determine our direction in the coming 17th Sabah State Election, including identifying potential partners, seat allocations, and other related matters,” said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He was commenting on Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin’s statement that Umno Sabah would only consider cooperating with GRS after the State Election.
Hajiji, who is also the GRS Chairman, quipped: “That was Bung’s personal view”.
He was officiating the handing over of 200 cows for korban (ritual sacrifice) in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the Sabah Bajau Samah Ethnic Cultural Centre, Kampung Lok Batik here yesterday.
Recipients of the korban cows comprised representatives of mosques and suraus in the Tuaran parliamentary area, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), as well as state and district agencies.
Hajiji said the act of korban not only symbolises obedience to Allah SWT, but also serves as a medium to strengthen unity and the spirit of mutual support within the community.
“The korban carries a significant message in reinforcing the spirit of unity and mutual assistance among Muslims.
“Hari Raya Aidiladha is not just a celebration, but a reflection of the values of sacrifice, sincerity, and compassion,” he said.
Also present at the event were Rural Development Minister Datuk Jahid Jahim; Pantai Dalit State Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya; and heads of state and federal departments.
