SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Tai Chi Association recently successfully organized its 2025 Friendship Night and Members’ Singing Competition at a leading seafood restaurant here.
The event, themed “Heavenly Voices, Singing Life, Songs That Shape Destiny,” drew a large crowd of members, students, and supporters.
The gathering was aimed to strengthen bonds among members while providing a platform to showcase talent and build self-confidence.
Jetama Water Sdn. Bhd. chairman Liau Fui Fui, graced the event as guest of honour and delivered the opening speech. She emphasized how combining physical activities like Tai Chi with musical elements can enhance both physical and emotional well-being in the community.
“The integration of movement and music not only nurtures the body but also enriches the spirit,” she remarked, encouraging everyone to maintain an active and joyful lifestyle.
The competition featured diverse singing performances that enthralled both judges and audience members. Winners were selected based on vocal quality, stage presence and creativity. Awards were presented for Male and Female categories, along with special recognitions like Best Costume and Best Performance.
The evening concluded with prize presentations and a group photo session, creating a warm atmosphere filled with cherished memories. Organizers expressed hopes to continue such programs to promote active living and community kinship.
“Events like this remind us that health and harmony go hand in hand,” said the association’s spokesperson. “We look forward to more opportunities to unite through movement and music.”
