SANDAKAN: Acting President of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam, urged PBS members to maintain cooperation with allies in preparation for the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN17).
He also warned members against falling for fake news or provocative content spread through the media.
“Almost daily, the opposition tries to divide PBS, STAR, and Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah. Verify any news with your division leaders before reacting,” stressed Joachim, who is also Deputy Chief Minister II.
He spoke at the annual general meeting (AGM) of PBS Lamag, Sukau, and Sekong divisions at Sandakan Community Centre on Sunday.
On political cooperation, Joachim affirmed that Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will continue collaborating with Pakatan Harapan (PH) for PRN17.
“Without PH’s support during the 2023 ‘Langkah Kinabalu,’ we might be in the opposition today. Let’s pray for smooth proceedings to keep GRS dominant in Sabah,” he added.
More than 300 party members attended the AGM. Also present were PBS Sungai Sibuga chief Kasirin Kamiran and other party leaders. – James Leong
