Ukoh: Kadamaian needs Ewon to finish development plan

KOTA BELUD: Former Kadamaian Assemblyman Ukoh Jeremmy Malajad has urged the people here to return Datuk Ewon Benedick as their representative in this week’s Sabah polls.
He said the continuity of Ewon’s leadership is important to ensure that all plans under the Kadamaian Development Master Plan can be continued and completed.
Ewon is a visionary leader, forward thinking, and always considers development not only for Kadamaian but also for Sabah as a whole, he said during the Sabah First Tour programme.
“He (Ewon) is a capable and charismatic leader. During his time as a state level minister, he brought many developments through the Ministry of Rural Development.
“Similarly, when he was the federal Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, economic development was spurred, particularly the construction and upgrading of rural tamu markets that we enjoy today, especially in Kadamaian,” he said.
Ukoh said the people not only want to see Ewon continue leading at the constituency level, but also hope he will be given the opportunity to lead Sabah.
“We must ensure that he is in a top leadership position so he can continue championing Sabah’s rights, including pursuing the struggle for state rights,” he said.
He also described Ewon as a principled leader who is brave enough to act in the interest of the people.
“Ewon was willing to resign in order to demand Sabah’s rights and the rights of all of us,” he said.
