KOTA KINABALU: JCI Senators from Southeast Asia will attend the Association of JCI Senators in the Southeast Asian Nations (Assean) Senate Board Meeting, hosted in Kota Kinabalu from March 27 to 30, 2026.
Delegates from Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and across Malaysia will also witness the installation of Patricia Poh as the first woman president of the Assean Senate, a regional organisation established in 2000.
“This milestone reflects our progress in promoting diversity and inclusive leadership, and I look forward to building meaningful connections and impactful initiatives across the region,” said Poh.
Delegates will also take part in an educational agro visit to Keningau, exploring local agricultural businesses and visiting durian and dragon fruit farms, providing them with first-hand insight into Sabah’s vibrant farming and agro-tourism sector.
The board meeting will include discussions on cross-border tourism, regional business opportunities, and collaborative social and NGO initiatives within the ASEAN region.
Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport and Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Ewon Benedick accepted Poh’s invitation to officiate the event during a courtesy call, which included JCI Senators Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh, Ivy Stanislaus and Benjamin Lo. – Wu Vuide
