KOTA KINABALU: Cement Industries (Sabah) Sdn Bhd (CIS) contributed RM1 million to the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) to support the development of football in the state.
CIS chairman Datuk Japlin Akim handed over the donation to SAFA acting president Datuk Awang Kadin Tang at the association’s office.
CIS Human Resources and Corporate Services senior manager Ezrie Ag Raini and SAFA secretary-general Shamsuddin Mohd Shah witnessed the presentation.
Japlin said the contribution was aimed at strengthening talent development programmes and improving the performance of the state team.
“We believe football can serve as a platform for instilling discipline, teamwork, and a strong sense of identity among the younger generation,” he said.
Kadin said the donation would provide both a moral and financial boost for advancing football development in Sabah.
