KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Government will continue backing the education sector to lift learning standards, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.
This includes giving school management more power to drive students’ holistic development across Sabah, he said.
“Strategic and continuous collaboration between the government and the Sabah Education Department is crucial to ensure all education policies and initiatives are implemented effectively and comprehensively,” Hajiji said.
He was speaking during a courtesy call from Sabah Education Department director Datuk Raisin Saidin and his delegation at Menara Kinabalu.
“This close relationship is crucial to strengthen the state’s education sector and produce quality, competitive human capital,” he added.
Raisin briefed Hajiji on the department’s key programmes for this year and plans for next year, including student progress and encouraging Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results.
The delegation included Planning and Management Sector deputy director Indang Kasi Sibin, School Management Sector deputy director Krishna KS @ Mohd Fadzli Abd Rozan, Student Development Sector deputy director Muddin Beting, and senior assistant director Salleh Linggam. – Wu Vuide
