KOTA KINABALU: The Malaysia Red Crescent Society (MRCS) has received RM100,000 from ConocoPhillips to strengthen its capacity to assist communities during emergencies in Sabah.
The contribution will support ongoing preparedness and response efforts, including assistance following the recent fire in Sandakan.
The funding will enable MRCS to mobilise quickly and respond effectively to emergency calls.
ConocoPhillips has long supported community relief efforts in Sabah. Last year, MRCS delivered essential assistance to almost 300 families affected by floods.
The continued partnership underscores a shared commitment to community welfare beyond individual incidents.
“The company has consistently stood with communities in Sabah during times of need,” said MRCS chairman Datuk Asnan Chung.
“Their support during last year’s floods made a meaningful difference for affected families, and this latest contribution strengthens our ability to prepare for and respond to future emergencies across the state,” he added.
ConocoPhillips president Connor Dunn said supporting MRCS was one way the company could help build resilience in the communities where it operates.
“This contribution is intended to help MRCS respond swiftly when incidents occur,” he said.
