BELURAN: A road accident involving three vehicles – two Perodua Bezza cars and a Proton – occurred at Kampung Jaya Bakti, Beluran on Monday.
The emergency call was received at 7.01 am. Firemen from the Beluran Fire and Rescue Station, led by PBK I Arshad Kadir, arrived at the scene located 25 kilometres away. A total of 10 individuals were involved.
Three women in the red Bezza were injured, while the blue Bezza involved two men (one seriously hurt, one with minor injuries), two women with minor injuries, one young girl and one young boy unharmed, while the Proton driver was uninjured.
Firemen provided initial assistance before handing the victims over to medical personnel. The operation concluded at 8.33 am.
In Tawau, one house was damaged in a fire at Kampung Iban, Jalan Merotai, at 1.33 pm on May 10. A team of 19 personnel from Tawau Fire Station, led by PBK II Noraziah Madri, arrived at the location 34 kilometres away at 2.09 pm.
The concrete structure was 90% destroyed, while two motorcycles were completely burnt. Firefighting operations utilized two hose lines of 100 feet each from the fire engine and a fire hydrant. The fire was brought under control at 2. 25 pm and completely extinguished by 2.40 pm. No casualties were reported. – James Leong
