KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has called for greater Canadian investment in Sabah to accelerate the State’s industrial growth.
He made the call when receiving the High Commissioner of Canada to Malaysia, Jodi Robinson, at Menara Kinabalu yesterday.
Hajiji said Sabah is ready to receive high-value investment in its industrial parks – the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) Lahad Datu, Kudat Blue Economy Industrial Park and Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (SOGIP).
He identified the Blue Economy, particularly aquaculture, as a priority sector for collaboration with Canadian investors and technology partners.
He said the push aligns with Canada’s intent to expand bilateral trade with Malaysia in agriculture, healthcare, ICT, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and education.
