His words of encouragement served as a morale boost for the MPS contingent as its athletes prepare to compete in the various sporting events, with the aim of delivering their best performances and bringing pride to the council.
Walter also called on the contingent to remain united, uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and represent MPS with pride. He emphasised that participation in the championship goes beyond athletic performance, reflecting the unity, cooperation and collective strength of MPS employees.
Sandakan is set to welcome contingents from local authorities across Sabah for the week-long championship, which is expected to bring together some of the state’s finest local government athletes. The event will provide a platform for healthy competition, the pursuit of sporting honours and the strengthening of camaraderie among local authority personnel.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place on Nov 7 at the Sandakan Sports Complex, while the closing ceremony will be held on Nov 13 at the Libaran Multipurpose Hall.
