KINABATANGAN: The Festive Season Fire Safety Campaign at the Sandakan Zone level Fire and Rescue was officially launched at the Petronas Station here on Thursday.
The event was officiated by Sandakan zone chief, Jasri Ab Jal, and attended by the fire and rescue station heads of Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and officers from Zone 6.
The campaign featured a fire safety briefing and a hands-on fire extinguisher training session for Petronas station staff. Additionally, fire safety and road safety pamphlets were distributed to visitors to raise public awareness.
The initiative aims to enhance community preparedness against fire risks, particularly as the festive season approaches. Authorities emphasized the importance of proactive fire prevention measures to minimize potential disasters.
In a statement, the Fire and Rescue Department stressed that effective fire prevention relies on early preparedness from all members of society, as it plays a crucial role in ensuring overall fire safety.
The department urges the public to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines to protect lives and property during the celebrations.
