SANDAKAN: A foreigner has been arrested following a brawl at a funfair that went viral on social media recently.
OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah, said the 26-year-old suspect was detained to assist in further investigations.
He stated that the investigation will be conducted under Section 147 of the Penal Code, and if convicted, the offender could face imprisonment of up to two years, a fine, or both.
“However, as of now, no official report regarding the incident has been received by the police,” he said when contacted.
Earlier, a video of the fight involving a group of individuals had gone viral on social media over the past few days.
The footage showed those involved clashing with each other amid crowds attending the funfair. – James Leong
