TAWAU: A man turned himself in to the police after allegedly being involved in a case of causing injury using a dangerous object, on April 16.
OCPD ACP Jasmin Hussin, said that in the incident which occurred around 5.20 pm, the suspect, a foreigner in his 30s, came forward voluntarily and admitted to his involvement.
“The suspect also handed over an object resembling a stingray barb, believed to have been used during the incident, to policemen at the Titingan Police Post,” he said.
According to him, the suspect was then taken to the Tawau District Police Headquarters for further action.
He added that preliminary quiz revealed that the suspect also admitted to being involved in another related case reported previously.
“The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing injury using a weapon or dangerous object,” he explained.
Meanwhile, police advised the public not to take matters into their own hands in a way that could cause injury, and to refer any disputes to the authorities. – James Leong
