
CROCODILE CAPTURED IN SANDAKAN … firemen from the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station captured a two-metre-long crocodile from a drain in front of a supermarket at Jalan Seguntor on Tuesday. Nine personnel were despatched to the scene situated 13 km from the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station upon being notified at 9.37 am after the public spotted the reptile in the drain. The firemen arrived at 9.52 am and caught the crocodile in less than 15 minutes. They removed the reptile from the drain and handed it to the Wildlife Department for further action. A handful of workers in the vicinity gathered at a safe distance to watch the firemen capture the crocodile. The operation ended at 10.07 am with no untoward incident reported.
