SANDAKAN: Tanjong Papat State Assemblyman (ADUN) Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, distributed traditional dumplings to constituents at the Tanjong Papat ADUN Service Centre in conjunction with the Dumpling Festival celebrations.
The programme began at 9am on Wednesday with a large turnout of voters who came to receive the contribution while mingling cordially with their representative.
Poon also delivered a festive address and conveyed gratitude for the people’s support towards the area’s development.
“Festivals like this unite people from diverse backgrounds and strengthen the bond between leaders and the people. I wish everyone a Happy Dumpling Festival!” he said.
The programme received an encouraging response from the local community, proceeded smoothly, and concluded successfully.
Meanwhile Jetama Water chairperson cum Secretary to the Tanjong Papat Assemblyman, Liau Fui Fui, distributed dumplings to local residents at five separate locations on Thursday.
This programme from 7am to 5pm, was to express her appreciation for the continuous support given by the community throughout her service, while also sharing the festive spirit with the community.
“In every dumpling, not only is there glutinous rice and filling wrapped inside, but also my heartfelt gratitude and affection for the people. Thank you for your support all this time. I will continue to strive to provide the best service to the community.”
The programme received a warm response from the public. All dumplings were successfully distributed in full on the same day, and the entire event took place in a friendly, orderly, and warm family-like atmosphere.
Many recipients expressed being touched and happy with this initiative, which not only preserves traditional cultural heritage but also strengthens the relationship between leaders and the community.
The success of this programme was also made possible with the help of volunteers and team members working on the ground.
Liau who thanked them for their commitment, reiterated her own commitment to continue organizing welfare and cultural programmes that strengthen community ties and the spirit of unity in the future. – James Leong
