SANDAKAN: Tanjong Papat Assemblyman and Sabah Development Berhad chairman, Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, together with his secretary Liau Fui Fui, distributed meat packs to local community in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Adha on Saturday.
Under this initiative, meat packs were distributed to several community areas including: Kampung Berhala Darat Sim Sim, Kampung Melayu Bumiputera Sim Sim, Yii Villa, Flat Lama Sim Sim, Sim Sim Low-Cost Housing Scheme and Kampung Pulau Berhala Laut.
Distribution was conducted by handing meat packs to wardens in each area for subsequent delivery to local residents celebrating Aidiladha.
Poon stated that the programme was aimed to foster unity, compassion, and strengthen bonds between community leaders and residents.
“May this practice bring joy to recipients and enliven the Aidil Adha spirit throughout our community,” he said.
Liau Fui Fui who is also Jetama Water Sdn Bhd chairperson, emphasized their commitment to continuous community engagement through various welfare initiatives.
“Such programmes provide opportunities for mutual service, sharing blessings, and building a more caring community,” she affirmed.
The programme received warm appreciation from locals who valued their leaders’ concern for community welfare.
The Aidil Adha Outreach Programme was also held in five key locations around Sandakan that included Indah Jaya Apartment, Kampung Bokara, MPS Karamunting Fkat, PPR Taman Mesra and PPR Taman Harmoni.
Five thousand recipients from multi-ethnic communities received meat packs as a gesture of social care. Distribution proceeded smoothly from 8am to 6pm.
Poon personally attended several distribution points to hand over the meat packs and engage with recipients. His presence enhanced the programme’s spirit of unity and goodwill.
“This programme not only celebrates Aidil Adha with our Muslim community but also strengthens social harmony. It is heartwarming to deliver these modest contributions. The recipients’ smiles were deeply touching. May such efforts continue fostering unity among us,” Liau stated.
