KINABATANGAN: State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun, launched the Kinabatangan District Taman Angkat Amanita at Lamag Hall here on Wednesday.
This initiative by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) aims to strengthen community engagement by empowering women through safety, social development, and community support programmes.
Taman Amanita Wanita serves as an interactive platform between law enforcement and local communities, particularly women, to address key issues such as domestic violence, sexual crimes, women’s economic empowerment and family well-being.
Jauteh emphasized PDRM’s commitment to supporting women as the backbone of society.
“Women are the pillars of the community. PDRM is always ready to be a strategic partner for women in ensuring they live in a safe, prosperous, and competitive environment.”
The event was attended by Kinabatangan OCPD Supt. Ravi Duraisamy, government agency representatives, community leaders, Sabah Police Family Association (PERKEP) members and local residents.
Activities included safety exhibitions, free health screenings, crime awareness talks, and interactive community sessions.
The ceremony included the symbolic presentation of the Taman Angkat Amanita chairperson appointment letter, marking the beginning of long-term collaboration between PDRM and the Kinabatangan community.
Following the event, Jauteh conducted a working visit to the Kinabatangan District Police Headquarters (IPD) and engaged with on-duty personnel.
