Suhaimi backs RMK-13, urges Federal Govt to prioritise Libaran’s development

SANDAKAN: Libaran MP Datuk Suhaimi Hj Nasir has expressed full support for the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) presented by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while urging the government to prioritize long-overdue development projects in his constituency.
Suhaimi outlined a comprehensive list of priority projects that demand urgent federal attention.
Healthcare – construction of a new district hospital to end reliance on Sandakan’s Duchess of Kent Hospital.
Education – complete concrete reconstruction of 11 dilapidated primary schools and establishment of SMK Gum-Gum 2 to address severe overcrowding.
Infrastructure – Libaran Bypass Road project to solve chronic traffic congestion and replacement of dangerous wooden bridges with permanent structures.
Affordable housing – accelerated completion of PPR Batu Putih Phase 2 for low-income families.
Security – new police stations in Ulu Dusun, Pekan Muhibbah, and Batu 8.
Public facilities – streetlights in dark areas, a new KEMAS office and mosques.
Suhaimi stressed that rural areas like Libaran must not be neglected to ensure Sabah keeps pace with national progress.
He urged Libaran residents to support RMK-13’s implementation for a fairer, more inclusive Malaysia. – James Leong
