BELURAN: A man has been reported missing after going to his farm in Kampung Bukit Besi 50 KM from here since Monday.
The victim, Jusli bin Kiple ,48, went to his farm located approximately 500 metres from his home at 6.00 am on August 18 and has not returned since.
According to a police report filed by the victim’s wife, villagers led by the village chief conducted a search from 10.00am to 3.00pm on August 19 but failed to locate the victim.
The Beluran Fire and Rescue Station was notified by the district police at 8.41 am on August 20.
Four firemen were deployed to participate in the search and rescue operation together with the police (3), Civil Defence Force (3), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (1) and villagers (5).
The search operation entered its third day on Friday and members of the search team continued to comb the area around the victim’s farm but have yet to find signs of him. – James Leong
