KOTA KINABALU: A1 Chicken Rice, a homegrown F&B brand from Kota Kinabalu, has officially set a new national record by selling 2,043 Kids Chicky Meal sets in a single day.
Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) official Megat Faris presented the certificate to A1 Chicken co-founders Benny Hon and Lanice Ng at its Lintas outlet.
Of the 2,043 meals sold, SJKC St James Likas accounted for 1,288 orders in conjunction with World Children’s Day 2025, while the remainder came from other outlets.
The recognition marks a significant milestone for A1 Chicken, which was established in 2010, and reflects the brand’s commitment to serving quality meals to the Sabah community.
“Setting a new national record fills us with pride. It represents not only our team’s tireless efforts, but also our mission to serve Sabahan families with tasty meals made from fresh ingredients every day.
“That is why we emphasise complete meals for families and children, so they feel comfortable and happy dining with us,” said Hon.
Hon said it was especially meaningful to receive the award at the Lintas outlet, which was the brand’s first full-fledged restaurant, opened in 2014.
“We are incredibly grateful to our customers who have supported us since our humble beginning with our first stall in 2010, before opening our first outlet in 2014,” he added.
The programme also featured the launch of A1 Chicken’s e-ordering service, its Chinese New Year menu, and a grand prize giveaway of an iPhone 17 through its Chop & Win campaign.
Currently, A1 Chicken operates six outlets in and around Kota Kinabalu, with a seventh outlet scheduled to open later this year.
