LAHAD DATU: Fire damaged four houses in Kampung Sepagaya located nearly 9.7 KM from here on May 14.
The State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre received an emergency call at 12.33 pm. A total of 14 personnel from the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station along with two fire engines and other support vehicles responded, arriving at the scene at 12.55 pm.
According to the Operations Commander, PBK I Akbar Mohambar, the fire involved four two-storey houses with varying degrees of damage.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent Sumsoa Rashid, confirmed that the fire was brought under control at 2.02 pm, and operations concluded at 5.21 pm. Assisting agencies included four policemen and four personnel from Sabah Electricity.
The cause of the fire and total losses have yet to be ascertained. No injuries or fatalities were reported. – James Leong
