SANDAKAN: A motorcycle was destroyed by fire at Kampung Tinosa 2 off Mile 7 Jalan Kem Tentera here, on Wednesday night.
The incident was reported via the NG999 emergency hotline at 8.01 pm. Operations Commander PBK I Chauslim Sunsubin, said six firefighters arrived at the scene at 8.19 pm, after traveling a distance of 10 kilometres from the station.
Upon arrival, the team found that the fire had already been fully extinguished by members of the public using a fire extinguisher. Firemen then conducted additional damping-down using a hose reel, as well as setting up a safety perimeter.
Firemen concluded their operation at 8.30 pm and returned to the station after ensuring the location was safe. No injuries or casualties were reported. – James Leong
