Sandakan Media Association pays courtesy call on Sungai Manila Assemblyman

SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Media Association, Sabah (PEMASSA) committee members, recently paid a courtesy visit to Sungai Manila State Assemblyman Datuk Hazem Mubarak Tun Musa at his office here.
The delegation, led by chairman James Leong, took the opportunity to introduce the association, which comprises print, electronic, and registered online news portals operating around Sandakan. Established in 2013, PEMASSA is officially registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
James said the visit was also aimed at building strategic collaboration and fostering goodwill, as well as exchanging views on current issues, news coverage, and community development programmes within the constituency, Sandakan, and its surrounding districts.
Hazem welcomed the visit and expressed his hope that the Sandakan media would continue to uphold the highest ethical standards in delivering truthful news. He noted that this is especially crucial when navigating the challenges of current affairs, rapid news cycles, and viral social media content.
He also lauded the media’s role in obtaining accurate information and working around the clock to disseminate government policies and initiatives to the local community. – James Leong
