TUARAN: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has assured that the four state constituencies in Tuaran will receive equal development with other areas in Sabah.
Hajiji said, as Chief Minister from Tuaran, he had a responsibility not only to develop his Sulaman constituency but also Pantai Dalit, Tamparuli and Kiulu to ensure balanced progress.
He said he was always looking for ways to assist the people and bring development to the four constituencies.
“If possible, we want the Tuaran district to be more developed or at least on par with other districts throughout Sabah,” he said.
Hajiji said this during the presentation of appointment letters to Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairmen for the 2026-2030 term.
The letters were presented to 48 chairmen in Sulaman and 45 in Pantai Dalit at Dewan Seri Sulaman.
He also presented RM3,000 cash assistance to each of 200 petty traders and roadside hawkers under the 2026 Sentuhan Kasih Hajiji allocation.
He said the initiatives were also a token of appreciation for the support of the people of Sulaman, who had continuously backed him during his 36 years representing the constituency, including the past five years as Chief Minister.
He said he had done his utmost to provide facilities and development for the people of Tuaran, particularly in Sulaman and Pantai Dalit.
These included village roads and economic activities to improve the people’s livelihoods.
Hajiji said the annual cash assistance was aimed at easing the financial burden of small traders earning an income for their families.
He also reminded all JKKK chairmen to fulfill their responsibilities as the eyes and ears of the Government, including fostering unity at the grassroots level.
He said the role of the JKKK was not merely to implement projects but also to unite people in their respective villages.
He said the JKKKs could strengthen their ties with villagers and create greater awareness through gotong-royong activities and regular meetings to foster a sense of family within the village.
