Water disruption hits 70 Households in Kampung Karamunting

SANDAKAN: Nearly 70 families in Kampung Karamunting are currently grappling with a water supply disruption that has severely hampered their daily routines.
Karamunting Community Development Leader, Yap Hsiu Min, revealed that certain parts of the village have experienced an ongoing water cut recently, significantly affecting the residents’ quality of life. Upon receiving the report from village representatives, he said he immediately contacted the Water Department to follow up on the urgent matter.
According to Yap, contractors from the Water Department carried out an on-site inspection on Tuesday. Preliminary probe pointed to a suspected underground pipe burst as the primary cause of the dry taps in the area.
He added that the contractors are currently still on location conducting thorough checks to pinpoint the exact source of the leak. Once the cause has been definitively identified, repair efforts will be initiated without delay to restore the water supply as soon as possible.
