Semporna Police and MACC strengthen ties with Anti-Corruption Integrity Pledge

SEMPORNA: The Semporna District Police Headquarters (IPD), in collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Tawau Branch, reinforced its commitment to clean governance through a joint Chief’s Address and Integrity Pledge (IBR) Programme held at the IPD Semporna Multipurpose Hall.
The event on Aug 19 drew a distinguished assembly of top enforcement officials, including MACC Tawau Branch Chief Richard Hii Ding Yin and Semporna OCPD Superintendent Tan Hiap Wah.
Also in attendance were Superintendent Norman Chendan AK Philip Picha Rumpang, Commanding Officer of the 22nd Battalion of the General Operations Force (GOF) Kunak; Deputy OCPD DSP Jaafar Hakim; and ASP Sapardi Abdul Samad, Acting Commanding Officer of the Semporna Marine Police. The programme was further supported by a full contingent of senior and junior officers from IPD Semporna, GOF 22nd Battalion Kunak, and the Semporna Marine Police.
The agenda featured a series of impactful sessions, including a keynote address by Supt Tan Hiap Wah and an anti-corruption sharing session presented by the Tawau MACC. The highlight of the day was the recitation of the Integrity Pledge (IBR), which served as a powerful public declaration of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel’s resolve to uphold transparency, accountability, and good governance within the force.
The programme proceeded seamlessly and wrapped up with a souvenir presentation ceremony and a luncheon, marking another step forward in fostering inter-agency cooperation and ethical integrity. – James Leong
