JCI Intan to mark Golden Jubilee Celebration on Sept 18

KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Intan, an all-ladies chapter, will hold its Golden Jubilee Celebration with the theme “Strengthening Youth Leadership in a Global Ecosystem” on Sept 18 at the Pacific Sutera Hotel.
A six-member delegation from the organising committee, led by chairperson JCI Senator Chai Moi Len, paid a courtesy call on the Head of State Tun Musa Aman at Istana Seri Kinabalu to invite him to officiate the momentous occasion.
Briefing the Sabah Governor, Chai, a JCI Intan past President (1982-1983), said the event would be a great opportunity to showcase the legacy of the organisation, honour the pioneers who tirelessly laid the foundation, to recognise the invaluable contributions of past presidents and members, and celebrate the long and winding journey that has shaped JCI INTAN into what it is today.
“The highlights of the celebration include a publication of a yearbook featuring the success stories of 50 presidents during their respective terms of office, an exhibition of the activities and projects of the chapter, a video presentation highlighting its programmes and achievements over the last five decades, and a cake-cutting ceremony,” she said.
Others in the delegation were past Presidents JCI Sen Datuk Christine Vanhouten (1979), JCI Sen Datuk Amisah Yassin (1984-1985), JCI Sen Alice Kunjan (1993-1994), JCI Sen Muriel Koh (2000), and JCI Janet Boyou (2002). – Wu Vuide
