Man found dead in house in Kota Belud

KOTA BELUD: The police will conduct further investigations following the discovery of a man who was found dead in a room of an unnumbered house in Kampung Tanjung Pasir, here, yesterday.
Kota Belud District Police Chief, Superintendent Khairul Shah Peri said his department received a report regarding the discovery at about 4.20 pm.
He said a team of personnel and officers were immediately deployed to the location of the incident to conduct further investigations.
“The victim, who was also a local man in his 20s, was later confirmed dead by medical officers at Kota Belud Hospital.
“The victim’s body was immediately sent to the Kota Belud Hospital Forensic Unit for a post-mortem,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Khairul Shah said that, so far, the investigation has found that no criminal elements have been detected and the case has been classified as sudden death.
He said further investigations were being conducted to identify the cause of the incident and the public was advised not to make any speculation that could affect the investigation.
“Witnesses who have information regarding the incident are asked to come forward to the Kota Belud District Police Headquarters (IPD) or contact investigating officer, Inspector Frankie Pain at 019-215 1132,” he said. – Fardy Bungga
