Trash not collected for nearly a month in Jalan Sungai Batang, Sandakan

SANDAKAN: Residents living near Jalan Sungai Batang, Batu 10, have complained to Sungai Manila Assemblyman Datuk Mokran Ingkat that their garbage has not been collected for almost a month.
Mokran visited the area on Thursday afternoon to meet with a resident, Mr. Lee, after being informed of the issue.
“Not only here, I have received many complaints from residents along Jalan Sungai Batang about uncollected waste by the contractor appointed by the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS),” Mokran added.
According to Mokran, he was informed that the complainant had to carry his trash to another disposal site because his own bin was overflowing.
Mokran urged the contractor responsible for waste collection to carry out their duties according to the scheduled timetable to avoid inconveniencing the local community.
He also suggested that MPS provide designated waste disposal sites for residents to discard their garbage properly.
Mokran advised residents to dispose of their waste at the designated sites once they are established to maintain cleanliness for everyone. – James Leong
