TAWAU: The district cops here arrested four individuals in two separate operations involving criminal intimidation and an attempted housebreak.
In the first incident on Feb 8, a man was assaulted and threatened by a group at a store along Jalan Chong Thien Vun.
Following the victim’s report, police arrested three local men—one aged approximately 25 and two others between 34 and 36. An iron rod and a knife, believed to be weapons used in the attack, were confiscated.
OCPD ACP Jasmin Hussin, stated this case is being investigated under Section 148 (Rioting armed with deadly weapon), and Section 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Penal Code.
In an unrelated case on Feb 7, police arrested one local man, aged 29, on suspicion of attempting to break into a house in Taman Rainbow. He was apprehended by MPV personnel at around 5.40 pm before he could enter the property. A pipe cutter was found at the scene, and the back door showed signs of being forced open.
This case is being investigated under Section 447 (Criminal trespass) of the Penal Code.
Jasmin emphasised the police’s serious stance against such crimes and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately.
