KOTA KINABALU: JCI Tanjung Aru will launch two flagship projects this year—‘Hi, Tauke!’ and Merdeka for Mereka (M4M).
The Hi, Tauke! initiative aims to support and empower aspiring entrepreneurs by sharing valuable knowledge and facilitating networking opportunities.
“We believe that by implementing this project, we can make a positive impact on the JCI community and the business community, while contributing to the growth of the local economy,” said newly-installed President Joanna Chong during JCI Tanjung Aru’s 44th swearing-in ceremony held at a hotel here.
As part of its ongoing collaboration, JCI Tanjung Aru and JCI Cebu also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the renewal of their sisterhood agreement.
Meanwhile, Merdeka for Mereka (M4M) aims to broaden members’ global perspectives and encourage community service during the Merdeka period.
Hosting the 2025 JCI Malaysia Area Sabah Convention
In addition to these initiatives, JCI Tanjung Aru will host the 2025 JCI Malaysia Area Sabah Convention (ASC) at Hotel Juta, Keningau, from 8–11 May this year.
The ASC is an annual event where JCI members convene for the general assembly and participate in public speaking and debate competitions.
Spanning three days and two nights, ASC serves as a celebration of the outstanding achievements of JCI members and local organisations. The event typically attracts over 120 JCI members from across Malaysia.
