SANDAKAN: A 40-foot tree fell across a road in Bandar Utama on Friday morning, blocking traffic in the area.
A member of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) who witnessed the incident alerted the Sandakan District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) at 7:50 am, requesting immediate assistance.
The APM Sandakan Bravo Squad was deployed to the scene to conduct cutting and removal operations. The team used three chainsaws and two machetes to cut the fallen tree.
Six workers from the Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS) assisted in the operation to ensure the road was cleared quickly and safely reopened to motorists.
The tree was fully removed from the site with no injuries reported. – James Leong
