TAWAU: A car was completely destroyed after catching fire in an incident near Kampung Sentosa, here late Sunday night.
The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) received an emergency call via the NG999 line at 11.21pm and immediately mobilised a team from the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
The response team, led by Operations Commander PBK I Zougrana Konin, comprising six firefighters, arrived at the location at 11.30pm, approximately five kilometres from the station.
The incident involved a car which was believed to have crashed before being completely engulfed in flames.
Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control at 11.50pm and extinguished it using water from the fire engine, and foam was also used during the firefighting operation.
Following the successful extinguishing of the fire, firefighters conducted further inspections to ensure that no remaining fire sources or other hazards were present at the scene.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
