KOTA KINABALU: In the lead-up to the Sustainable Wholistic Wellness International Conference & Expo (SWWICE) 2025, organizers paid a courtesy visit to Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah and Chairman of the Sabah Tourism Board.
The visit served as an opportunity to share the event’s vision and updates with Joniston, who has been confirmed as the guest of honour and will officially launch the conference later this month.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Sabah’s natural beauty, SWWICE 2025 is designed to reinforce the state’s growing reputation as a destination not just for leisure, but for medical and wellness tourism. The conference aims to bring together a diverse mix of healthcare professionals, wellness practitioners, tourism players, and international delegates in a unique gathering focused on sustainable, integrative well-being.
“We’re truly grateful for Datuk Joniston’s encouragement and endorsement,” said the organizing committee.
“His support reflects the government’s commitment to fostering wellness tourism as a key growth sector for Sabah,” said Cleopatra Lajawai, Organising Chairperson of the conference.
A major highlight of SWWICE 2025 is its lineup of over 30 expert speakers who will explore wellness from a variety of perspectives, guided by the event’s signature framework of The 10 Wholistic Wellness Pillars, developed by the conference founders to promote a more conscious and holistic approach to health.
Joniston commends the initiative, noting its alignment with Sabah’s broader tourism vision: “This event is very much in line with our goal to promote Sabah as a leading medical tourism destination. With our world-class healthcare services, breathtaking nature, and warm hospitality, Sabah is uniquely positioned to attract health-conscious travellers from around the world.”
SWWICE 2025 comprises of three unique components, the Wholistic Wellness International Conference from 24–26 June at The Magellan Sutera Resort, Wellness and Lifestyle Expo from 27–29 June at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) and Wholistic Wellness Retreat, 1–3 July.
Registration is still open, and the organizers warmly invite both local and international participants to join this annual event. Attendees can expect inspiring talks, immersive experiences, and meaningful conversations that place Sabah firmly on the map as a hub for sustainable wellness and healing.
