LAHAD DATU: Three local men were arrested by police on suspicion of possessing 51.65 grams of syabu-type drugs during a raid in Kampung Ulang-Ulang, Tungku, on Tuesday.
Lahad Datu OCPD ACP Dzulbahrin Haji Ismail, said the raid, conducted under Op Tapis, was carried out around 9.15 pm by a team of police from the district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.
“The three suspects, aged from their 20s to 30s, were apprehended at an unnumbered house. A search revealed syabu hidden inside a small black plastic bag,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
According to him, police also seized various equipment believed to be used for drug abuse and distribution activities.
“All suspects and seized items have been taken to the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters for further investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.”
He stressed that the district police remain committed to combating drug activities for the well-being of the community. – James Leong
