KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor presented a State Government incentive of RM5,000 to Sabah muaythai athlete Emmabell Cassandra in recognition of her outstanding achievement on the international stage.
The incentive was handed over at the Sabah Legislative Assembly building.
Hajiji also conveyed his congratulations and expressed pride in Emmabell’s accomplishment in bringing honour to Sabah and the nation after winning the women’s category at the Byon Combat Showbiz 7 championship, held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) last Friday.
He said the victory demonstrated the capability of Sabah athletes to compete and excel at the international level, while serving as an inspiration to younger generations to venture into sports.
The presentation ceremony was also attended by Youth and Sports Development and Creative Economy Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, Permanent Secretary Datuk Mandur Asun and Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Juil Nuatim. – Wu Vuide
