SANDAKAN: Member of Parliament Vivian Wong Shir Yee is organising the Karnival Hari Raya Aidil Fitri Parlimen Sandakan in the vicinity of Pasar Sim Sim today.
Sandakan residents are invited to join in the festive celebrations and experience the joyous atmosphere of Aidil Fitri at the programme from 5.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
Organising chairperson and coordinator of Sandakan Parliamentary Constituency Service Centre, Tang Szu Ching, stated the programme will feature various events, including cultural performances and other exciting activities aimed at fostering stronger community ties.
Tang highlighted that among the engaging activities planned are the Rahmah Sales programme, a mother-and-child Raya fashion competition, traditional dances and Kompang performances, fireworks display, and live performances by local artistes.
“We hope all attendees will take home sweet memories from this festive celebration,” Tang said in a statement on Friday.
The Rahmah Sales programme will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm, offering a variety of daily essentials and basic goods at affordable prices for the public.
