KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has continuously enhanced the public services delivery and expanded the benefits of the Malaysia Madani, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
The civil servants, he said, are the backbone of the state’s development, therefore, their roles must always be imbued with integrity, efficiency, and a high sense of responsibility.
“The people are watching our behaviour, speech, and the way we serve reflects the government’s service delivery.
“As such, civil servants must internalise the Madani principles of sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust, and compassion as part of their ethics and work culture,” he said during the Sabah Jelajah Taat Setia Madani programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here yesterday.
Also present was Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
Hajiji said the strong cooperation between the State and Federal Governments has resulted in various initiatives including the Program Madani Rakyat 2024: Sayangi Sabah, attracting nearly 485,000 visitors.
He said the establishment of 219 Madani communities in Sabah with an allocation of RM657,000; the Ehsan@Kuskop initiative targeting Kota Belud, Kota Marudu, and Kudat as well as various educational forums and discussions are aimed at deepening the understanding of Malaysia Madani.
At the state level, Hajiji said that the government continues to channel various forms of assistance, especially to the B40 group and students.
On human capital development, he said that the State Government’s scholarship fund had been significantly increased from RM55 million in 2022 to RM128 million in 2025.
Support for Sabah youth to pursue higher education is a long-term investment to produce future leaders and a competitive workforce, he said.
Hajiji also called upon the 21,989 state civil servants and 126,677 federal civil servants in Sabah to serve as facilitators for the people in communicating government policies and initiatives.
He also urged all Sabahans to set aside political differences and strengthen unity for the progress of the state.
“Political stability is the foundation of prosperity. Let us move forward together in the spirit of solidarity, prioritising unity and renewing our commitment to a brighter future for Sabah,” he said.
