KOTA KINABALU: The main organising committee of the Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan 2025 (UNK2025) paid a courtesy call on Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the newly-appointed committee, led by co-chairpersons Datuk Joanna Kitingan and Dr Mary Gambidau.
They will spearhead this year’s Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan, a cultural pageant that celebrates the strength, identity, and heritage of Sabahan women.
Faridah has been invited to attend two key events, namely the Sodop Unduk Ngadau (SUN2025) on May 28 and the Grand Finale and Coronation Day of Unduk Ngadau on May 31, which marks the culmination of the month-long cultural festival.
Both events will be held at KDCA Hongkod Koisaan here.
The elegant Sodop evening will showcase the finalists in evening gowns designed by talented local designers, highlighting creative artistry and the fusion of contemporary and traditional Sabahan fashion.
A portion of the proceeds from SUN2025 will be channelled to the Huguan Siou Education and Charitable Foundation, this year’s chosen beneficiary.
While all tables for SUN2025 have been sold out, gallery seats (without food) remain available for purchase at the KDCA Office.
As Sabah prepares to welcome people from all walks of life to the festivities, this year’s Kaamatan continues to carry the message of inclusivity, unity, and shared cultural pride.
