SANDAKAN: The Sandakan Pau Kung Temple celebrated its 49th anniversary and the birth anniversary of Pau Kung with a grand dinner event at the temple hall at Jalan Sim Sim recently.
The gathering was graced by Tanjong Papat Assemblyman Datuk Frankie Poon Ming Fung, and Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad, along with his Secretary Liau Fui Fui, who is also the Chairman of Jetama Water Sdn Bhd.
The event began at 6pm with guest registration, followed by dinner at 7pm. The evening featured lively activities, including lucky draws and traditional performances.
In his speech, Poon highlighted the temple’s role not only as a place of worship but also as a symbol of unity among Sandakan’s multicultural community.
Meanwhile, Liau Fui Fui commended the temple’s progress as a result of dedicated volunteers and encouraged youth participation in social and charitable activities to uphold this noble legacy.
