Building strong character to eradicate bullying in schools

SANDAKAN: Fostering robust personal character among students represents the fundamental strategy for preventing bullying in educational institutions, emphasized Mohd Zharif Aizat Samsudin, Chairman of Masjid Wasatiyyah Batu Sapi.
Speaking at an anti-bullying awareness programme, Zharif stressed that developing disciplined, ethical and responsible students creates the most effective defence against bullying culture. The event, organized jointly by the mosque and SMK Batu Sapi, addressed the growing concern about bullying in schools.
Zharif highlighted that all forms of bullying—whether physical, psychological, verbal or cyber—cause significant damage to the school environment and inflict profound, lasting trauma on victims.
The programme featured expert presentations and interactive sessions with a panel comprising educators, law enforcement officers and local authorities.
