Politeknik Sandakan Sabah celebrates achievements of 307 graduates

SANDAKAN: Politeknik Sandakan Sabah celebrated the achievements of 307 graduates at its 12th Convocation Ceremony on Sunday.
The ceremony, officiated by Dato’ Professor Dr. Mohammad Shatar Sabran, Chief Executive of the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), honoured alumni from the Diploma in Aquaculture and Diploma in Agrotechnology programmes.
The cohort consisted of 228 graduates from Session II: 2023/2024 and 79 graduates from Session I: 2024/2025.
In his address, Politeknik Sandakan Sabah director Mohd Sahran @ Awang Mohidin emphasized the institution’s commitment to strengthening TVET Education, particularly in the agri-food sector—a key regional driver.
He stated that the graduates are central to realising the RMK-13 aspiration of establishing “Sabah as the Food Valley.”
Supported by 112 staff, the institution is dedicated to fulfilling the national mission of producing holistic, progressive, and ethical graduates equipped with high-level TVET knowledge and skills.
In line with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), the accolades bestowed upon the graduates are intended to catalyse their future excellence, enabling them to hone their potential and compete on a challenging global stage. – James Leong
