House breaking suspect arrested by Tawau cops

TAWAU: A foreigner was arrested by police on Sunday one month after he allegedly broke into a house in Taman Berjaya here.
OCPD ACP Jasmin Hussin said police seized a 22-cm long knife from the suspect when they detained him in a house at Kampung Sungai Buaya, Mile 3 about 2.50 pm.
The incident occurred on 3 November around 1.35 am when the security alarm of the 34-year-old victim’s house was triggered. CCTV footage later showed a man entering the compound through the rear fence, Jasmin stated
Jasmin explained that the suspect then moved to the front of the house before the owner confronted him via the CCTV’s audio system, causing the suspect to panic. The suspect then climbed the fence to flee.
“The case is being investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code, Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1957, and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” Jasmin said.
